I almost forgot

I didn't show you what i brought at the charity event at my lcs last weekend. The first picture is twisted decoupage sheets. Something i've not tried before but there was a man demonstrated them and i thought it looked effective so i brought some sheets. I also brought 2 new Whippersnapper stamps, monochrome Papermania set, black & white chipboard letters, tweezers, sakura pens, other christmassy stamps and some Dovecraft christmas embellishments oh and the magazines :D

Tilda autumn challenge card

Over on the DoCrafts forum at the moment there is a challenge to make a Tilda card with the theme of Halloween or autumn. You can use 3 colours (not including the skin), 2 buttons, brads or eyelets and 1 ribbon.

Here is my card.

Pink christmas cards for Breast Cancer

Yesterday i went to the Colemans warehouse in Rushden, where they had a special charity day and a competition whereby you had to make a pink christmas card. The prize was £50 worth of craft goodies so i thought i'd give it a go and it was for a good cause too. Any way i made 4 cards but nly entered the first 3 as i wasn't very pleased with the fourth one.

The first card is a Penny Black stamp which i've coloured with H2O's. I've used DCWV papers and just some spare pink glitter paper i had in my stash. To make it stand out i've added pink glitter around the edges.

The stamp on this one is from Crafty Individuals. I've used a dark pink ink on pink paper to give a different effect. The happy Christmas text is a HOTP stamp

This one is an embossed image. I've used shrink plastic to draw the breast cancer ribbon on and then coloured it in pink before shrinking it. I then added them onto the tree to make them look like decorations.
And the last one is quite plain and i didn't like the choice of ribbon so i didn't enter it. The stamp is a HOTP one. I've used a little pink star gem at the top of the tree for some texture.

OH's christmas card

Managed to make this yesterday for OH. It's an A5 size card. I've used DCWV christmas papers and gold mirri card for the matting. I've also used some DCWV adhesive ribbon down the right hand side. The brads were from a Hot Off The Press QVC set, Anitas peel offs and of course my ever faithful Penny Black images, this time a santa dog which i received in an image swap some time ago. I've coloured him in with watercolour pencils.

Stash brought whilst on holiday

Well our holiday this year seems like a long distant memory now, but then it was the end of August so it has taken me a while to post pictures of what i brought. I found 2 great craft shops. One was called Pen 2 Paper in Matlock and the other was R U Crafty 2 which is in Buxton. Seeing as i was there it seemed rude not to buy a few bits, so this it the few items i brought.

Family Christmas cards

Almost completed all my christmas cards for 2008! Just a few more includuing one for my OH and then i think i'm done. These are for my parents, grandma and my auntie. For my parents card i have used a Penny Black image coloured in with water colour pencils, Do Crafts christmas paper and i've used wording recycled from a card used a few years ago. The other two cards are made using cards from a QVC pack, mirri card in gold and silver and the stickers are from Anitas christmas stickers.

The three cards below are for my OH's family. They all have a Penny Black image again using water colour pencils and some Twinkling H2O's.

Some more christmas cards

Having been a fan of Forever Friends since they first came out several years ago, i was very excited when i heard Do Crafts were bring out a range of Forever Friends craft items and couldn't resist buying a few of the items.

I've made these christmas tree shaped cards for my close friends using some of the papers, stickers and rubber stamps from the collection.

Creativity on a budget

I've been struggling for ages to find the right kind of storage for my 8x8 papers. I've seen various boxes that i've liked but at £10 each i've been put off buying them. But one day whilst pouring my bran flakes into a bowl for breakfast, i thought why not recycle the box and make my 8x8 storage out of that. So here is what i ended up with, from the cereal box into a lovely storage box.

Cereal box (1kg size)

To storage solution

Ive decided to leave mine plain. All i've used is some left over Dulux sample paint pots to disguise what the box is. (It took 3 or 4 layers to cover it up). I may decorate it in the future but at the moment i quite like the simplistic look of it.

A little different

I'm a bit of a stamp fan and have so many that sometimes i can forget what i have and also what they look like stamped out. So, i have 2 A5 notebooks that i use to stamp all my images in so when i want to make a card i can have a quick flick through to see what would be ideal.

I had to buy the 2nd book quite recently and took the opportunity to decorate them both at the same time. I've gone for the oriental feel and seeing as i like red at the moment it seemed the right colour to chose. The papers are from the DCWV Orientals paper pack and the stamp i think is a Hero Arts one. I've then used my Cricut and some DCWV adhesive card for the word STAMPS using the stamped font.
